They are juicy and delicious fruits that belong to the genus Prunus of the Rosaceae family which also includes peaches, apricots, and nectarines. They exist in diverse colors and shapes with over 2000 different varieties. Plums are broadly divided into three groups: European-Asian (Prunus domestica), Japanese (Prunus salicina) and Damson (Prunus insititia). China is the leading harvester of plums, followed by the United States, Serbia, and Romania. Within the US, the major production of plums happens in California. Recipe for Plum chutney
Total Time: 15-30 minutes, Serves: 2, 240 calories
8 – ripe plums.
12 – raisins.
1 tbsp – mustard oil.
1 tsp – pachforan (mustard seeds, cumin seeds, black cumin seeds, Fennel seeds and Fenugreek seeds).
1 tsp – Red Chilli powder.
A pinch – salt.
A pinch – Haldi powder.
Sugar to taste.
Boil the plums in a little water. After cooling, deseed them.
Then boil again and add sugar depending on how sweet the plums are.
Add haldi, salt, chilli powder and let it simmer. Then add the raisins.
If the concoction has become too thick, add a little water and boil.
Heat mustard oil in a frying pan.
Season it with pachforan.
Simmer again. Cool a bit and serve.
This chutney can be kept in the fridge for a week.

750 Gram Mixed dry fruits (raisins, black currants, cranberries, sultana, prunes, figs)
200 ml Rum
1 Zest of lemon
1 Zest of orange
1/4 tsp Clove powder
1/2 tsp Ginger powder
1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
50 Gram Tuti fruity
250 Gram Butter
200 Gram Brown sugar
1/2 tsp Baking powder
100 Gram Almond powder
1 tsp Vanilla essence
For decoration – Icing sugar
For decoration (small santa, mini reindeers) – Christmad toppings

Cover the pan and keep aside overnight to let it cool and the fruits to soak in brandy.

In another deep bowl, cream butter and brown sugar together. Add lemon and orange zest.Christmas Plum Cake

Add tooti fruity and whisk more, followed by the soaked dry fruits.Christmas Plum Cake

When the cake is cooled, drizzle icing sugar on top. Decorate it with Christmas decorations and serve.
