Atte Ka Halwa Recipe

This Halwa recipe made from whole wheat flour is a delicious, melt in the mouth Indian dessert. It is very easy to be cooked, and it takes not more than half an hour to be cooked so that you can make it anytime you feel like having an Indian dessert. This is usually liked to be made on Navratri poojas mainly, but the craving for Atta halwa can be at any time so you really don’t need to wait for an occasion since this is way too easy and quick to make!

Ingredients Of Atte Ka Halwa

50 Gram Raisins

5 Gram Cardamom (coarsely ground)

500 Gram Sugar

100 Ml Water

10 Gram Almonds, sliced

5 Gram Pistachios (for garnishing), sliced

500 Gram Whole wheat flour

300 Gram Ghee

How to Make Atte Ka Halwa

1.Water and sugar are boiled in a pan over medium high heat. Th syrup is brought to full boil and is mixed well to make sure that the sugar gets dissolved, and turn off the heat.

Set aside.

2.In a frying pan over low medium heat, the clarified butter is added, after butter is melted add whole wheat flour.

Keep stirring so that the flour gets roasted, stop when it turns light brown. Now it will have a sweet aroma. .

3.Flour should be roasted well, after adding the syrup four will be lighter in shade. Halwa should be nice and light brown in color. This will generlly take about 7-8 minutes.

4.the syrup Is added slowly so that the splattering is  minimum. Keep stirring continuously, making sure there is no lumps.

5.Add raisins, half the almonds and cardamom, and cook till it becomes consistency of thick batter. Keep the halwa softer than your desired consistency, as it will thicken over time. This should take about 5-6 minutes.

6.Garnish with almonds, and pistachios. Serve warm.
