The marks often start reddish or purple, but after pregnancy, they gradually fade to white or gray. Women with lighter complexion develop purple marks in the initial phase. However these marks sometimes appear blue also, but gradually they turn lighter, and with time they appear white. Women with darker skin tones, develop lighter color stretch marks. They generally develop lighter marks than their skin color. 

ARE THEY COMPLETELY PREVENTABLE?

Stretch marks are not completely treatable. Many doctors and dermatologists state that there is no way to prevent them.

However, there are many creams and lotions which guarantees for treating stretch marks completely. But to invest money in creams and lotions is not an ultimate solution. Although continuous moisturization and hydrating your skin is a good habit to adapt from the starting months of pregnancy. Massaging your belly, hydrating it, spending time in the bathtub, and relaxing your belly. These can help reduce the chances of getting hard marks and also helps in reducing the itching in the belly.
