Kolakulathadi Uses, methods to apply

Udvartana, dry powder massage depends fully on this choornam. The main purpose of dry massage is to reduce body fat. Moreover, vinegar is added to this choornam and heated till it forms an ointment. Thus, the ointment serves the purpose of anti-inflammation, pain relief, and rheumatoid arthritis treatment. It relieves body pain rising from joint pains, back ache, shoulder pains, and muscular pain. As a matter of fact, a newly recovered patient complains of body, muscle, and joint pains. Thus it is also a good source of treatment for post viral fever effects.

Usually they are a good source for countering obesity. Hence an ideal dosage goes on for 7-10 days, depending on the type of treatment. However, in the form of ointment they can be used for a longer period of time.

To use it with oils like mahanarayana, one needs to put 1-2 teaspoons of this oil in 1-2 teaspoons of churna. In addition, one makes a wrap in a piece of cloth to prepare a pack. Then heating the pack on a pan and applying it over painful areas serve the purpose.

These medicines are delicate and needs to be stored in cool and dry environment. Thus, low to minimal exposure to heat and sunlight is recommended. This powder remains in the best form to use, till the first 6 months of manufacturing.
