Recipe for Custard apple (seetaphal ) rabdi
Seethaphal or Custard apple – 2 nos
Whole Milk or Full Fat Milk – 250 ml
Sugar – 1 – 2 tsp
Soda – a pinch
Cardamom powder – a pinch
Pistachios – 3 nos
Badam – 3 nos
Boil the whole milk in low temperature for 30 minutes stirring in between.
Add little sugar and still until the sugar gets dissolved. Then add a pinch of soda and stir slowly. (by adding this, the milk will not cuddle).
Add in the Seethaphal pulp (discard the seeds), mix well and then add pinch of cardamom powder and cook for few minutes until thick and creamy.
Allow cooling and then serve garnished with almond and pistachios flakes.
Recipe for Custard Apple Milkshake
Preparation Time: 15 mins Cooking Time: 0 mins Total Time: 15 mins Makes 4 glasses
3/4 cup custard apple (sitaphal) pulp
1 cup vanilla ice-cream
1 1/2 cups chilled milk
2 1/2 tbsp sugar
Combine all the ingredients in a mixer and blend till smooth.
Pour the milkshake into 4 individual glasses.
Lastly, serve immediately.
Side effects and word of caution
(1) Too Much Weight Gain Is Bad
Regular and moderate consumption of custard apple is very beneficial for weight gain. This is also an advantage to those who are underweight and are looking for a natural way to gain weight. Although this is an advantage but this can soon turn into a disadvantage if the person is not careful about his/her custard apple consumption. It is very important to maintain ideal weight as both excessive weight gain and excessive weight loss is bad for our health.
Eating too many custard apples could give rise to weight gain problem which in turn give rise to many health complications like increased risk of cardiovascular problems like heart attack, heart stroke, irregular heartbeat etc. It can also give rise to high blood pressure which is a serious problem that affects millions of people all over the world. Thus, excessive weight gain is harmful to our kidneys, liver, and other vital organs too.
